DeFord Completes Service on Board of Colorado Canyons Association
DWMK partner Willie DeFord has completed six years of service on the Colorado Canyons Association’s Board of Directors, including two years as board president. While he is now term-limited from continuing to serve on the board, DeFord will remain on CCA’s Development Committee.
Colorado Canyons Association fosters community stewardship of western Colorado’s national conservation lands with a focus on Dominguez-Escalante, Gunnison Gorge, and McInnis Canyons National Conservation Areas. A non-partisan, non-profit organization, CCA encourages cooperation among all national conservation area users and interests. https://www.coloradocanyonsassociation.org/
During DeFord’s tenure on the board, CCA expanded its programs getting kids outside, providing outdoor learning programs for thousands of local students, and giving educators the tools and resources needed to extend the classroom environment into these learning landscapes by offering diverse and meaningful standards-based outdoor education programs to students in Mesa, Delta, and Montrose counties.
CCA also provides interpretive programs for the community beyond our schools. From hikes and lectures to stories captured on film, CCA's interpretive programs focus on the scientific significance and cultural heritage of the NCAs.
DWMK is committed to serving our communities in Grand Junction and beyond.
