$5 Million Jury Verdict for partner, Sam Starritt

Dufford Waldeck is pleased to announce that Partner Sam D. Starritt, together with co-counsel, Lorraine Parker and Karen Blau, of Parker Lipman in Denver, secured a well justified $5-million dollar jury verdict against a medical device manufacturer on behalf of our client who had been badly burned by a cosmetic procedure.

After the trial, the jury indicated that it was the company’s aggressive marketing and promotion of the device for the purpose of dermal resurfacing, when it had not been determined to be safe or effective for that specific use, that was a factor in their decision.

We thank the jury for their service. The verdict is believed to be the highest damages award made by a jury in Mesa County history.
