Willie DeFord, partner with Dufford Waldeck, is a trial lawyer, taking real estate, commercial, and natural resource cases into the courtroom and zealously advocating for his clients. His work involves speaking up for people and helping them find their own voice.
Willie has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in cases involving adverse possession, easements, sales contracts, leases, mineral rights, water rights, business torts, shareholder liability, implied covenants in mineral development, mechanics' liens, and construction contracts.
Serving on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Canyons Association, Willie is a former president of the Pro Bono Project of Mesa County and a recipient of the Charlie Traylor Award in recognition of his pro bono service. Willie and his wife Sally have three children. Willie grew up in Katy, Texas, is a graduate of Brigham Young University (B.A. English 2001) and the University of Colorado School of Law (J.D. 2005), a former articles editor on the University of Colorado Law Review, an avid hiker, musician, and reader.
